Golden Hawks blow out Cedar Valley Christian

WELLMAN — No. 5 Mid-Prairie led visiting Cedar Valley Christian 13-8 after one quarter of Monday’s non-conference game inside Tim Grady Gymnasium, but the Golden Hawks held the Huskies to just 11 points the rest of the way to win 45-19.

Senior Mallory McArtor scored 15 points to lead the Golden Hawks (12-3), and she also had seven rebounds and five steals. Senior Mariah Swartzentruber added nine points and four steals, and senior Meghan Redlinger had eight points and five thefts.

Sophomore Shelby Hembera, a 6-foot center, scored 17 of Cedar Valley Christian’s 19 points. She also had six rebounds, three steals and three blocks for the Huskies (1-11).
