Golden Hawks roll past Columbus 10-0
COLUMBUS JUNCTION — After a slow start, the 15th-ranked Mid-Prairie girls’ soccer team rolled to a 10-0 win at Columbus on Friday night.
On the heels of back-to-back hat tricks, Mid-Prairie senior Meghan Redlinger scored four goals in Friday’s contest. She also had three assists.
Twin sister Kattie Redlinger added a pair of goals for the Golden Hawks (3-1), and junior Kira Kerkove scored her first two goals of the season. Team captain Taylor Hershberger had a goal and an assist, and sophomore Ashley Miller scored her first career varsity goal. Sophomore Alison Riggan didn’t score, but she tallied three assists.
Despite all the scoring, Mid-Prairie head coach Bristol Harris was most impressed that his team shut out the Wildcats.
“I cannot say enough about the defense, as I did not see them backing up too much,” he said.
