Good Luck 4-H Club
The Good Luck 4-H Club met at 7 p.m. Nov. 20, at the Brighton Community Center.
Roll call was to name a favorite Thanksgiving food and was answered by 10 members, four guests, and one leader. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Nate Lamansky. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Emma Danker and approved. There was no treasurer’s report.
Business included: a report on Awards Night on Nov. 2, the First Responders Breakfast on Oct. 26, filling meeting/hosting spots, and community service projects. For the December meeting members are to bring one or two canned food items or paper products to donate to a food drive. Members should also bring a grab bag gift in the $3-$4 range.
Members being recognized for awards were: Emma Danker, Leah Danker, Oren Danker, Adam Guy, James Lamansky, Nate Lamansky, Brett Wright for outstanding records books, and Leah Danker and Oren Danker for outstanding junior members. The club was recognized for donating to the 4-H’ers for 4-H Campaign. Lynn Wright was also recognized for being a 4-H leader for 15 years.
Installation of officers was held. Officers are president-James Lamansky, vice president-Brett Wright, secretary-Emma Danker, and treasurer-Adam Guy.
The leader’s report included sharing information about an upcoming sewing workshop. Club members should watch for more information from the Extension Office. The next meeting will be Dec. 18.
Thomas moved and Nate seconded a motion to adjourn. The 4-H Pledge was recited.
Presentations given were: “Psychology” by Emma Danker, “Canine Health” by Leah Danker, and “Heritage Breeds of Iowa” by Oren Danker. Refreshments were served by the Danker Family.
