Gray charged with sexual abuse
Christina Marie Gray, 27, of Brighton remains in the Washington County Jail under $10,000 bond today after being arrested Thursday for allegedly having sexual relations with a 13-year-old boy.
Gray is charged with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony that can bring up to 10 years in prison and a fine between $1,000 and $10,000. She has requested a court-appointed attorney. According to her case file, attorney Frank Santiago has been appointed to represent her.
According to the complaint affidavit, on April 29 Gray allegedly committed a sex act on a person who was 13 years old, and that an adult subject was present who witnessed the act. The court document also said that the witness had a picture of Gray and the 13-year-old on his iPod that was allegedly taken after the incident. The document said it appeared the victim held the camera in front of himself and Gray and snapped the photo. The report said Gray didn’t appear to be wearing a shirt and appeared to be cuddling with the victim.
Officers spoke with the victim at his home in Brighton, where, according to the report, he admitted to having sex with the defendant. He said that he told his father they had sex approximately 20 times. The report also said Gray was present at the victim’s home and admitted to having sex with him at least twice. She said the incidents had occurred in Washington and Brighton.
Third-degree sexual abuse is defined in Iowa code as sex with a subject who is 12 or 13 years old.
