Several Halcyon House residents enjoyed the University of Iowa Symphony Band at the Washington Community Theater this week. Taking in the performance were Audrey Stark, Virginia Tschantz, Betty Osincup, Karen McCreedy, Marcella Reed, and Glenys Clark who served as the driver of the Halcyon House bus for the group.
Eva Gallagher enjoyed a weeklong visit from her son Ron. Ron traveled from West Virginia to catch up with his mother and friends and family in the Washington area.
Virginia Tschantz welcomed her brother and wife, Phil and Lois Myers, for a long weekend. They traveled to Washington for a family wedding. Virginia’s granddaughter, Elizabeth Tschantz, was married to Trevor Hanshaw at the Walton Club in Fairfield. They kept busy traveling to Amana and then to Wayland for church. They met with cousin, Kathy and husband, Stan Meyer for lunch in the Applewood Bistro. They also enjoyed supper with Virginia’s son and wife, Rusty and Denise Tschantz, and lots of family members who joined them for that a meal.
Residents, team members, and family members have been very busy so far this month. We prepared and moved 43 residents into our new health care households last week. Residents enjoyed visits from family to help prepare for the move, help move things in, and now many are stopping in to help the residents settle into their homes.
Halcyon House sends our sympathy out to the families of our residents and friends, Marian Brown and Jean Miksch.
