Head-on accident injures four people
The Iowa State Patrol hasn’t released information regarding a head-on collision near Wayland that sent four people to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City Sunday evening.
According to the Washington County police log, the two-vehicle collision happened at 6:55 p.m. in the 3000 block of Wayland Road in Wayland. Officers, the Iowa State Patrol, Washington Fire Department, Washington County Rescue and Washington County Ambulance responded.
The log says Melissa Anne Lothridge of Washington was driving one vehicle and Sharon Kay Boner of West Chester was driving the other. Two ambulances reportedly transported two subjects each to the hospital. Over $1,500 damage was reported and both vehicles were towed. Lothridge was listed in fair condition this morning. No information was available on Boner.
A spokesperson for the Iowa State Patrol said that the trooper investigating the incident wouldn’t be in until later tonight to give additional information on the accident. The report was not available on the state patrol’s Web site this morning.
