Honor flight honors county

In recognition of the Washington County Board of Supervisors and the Washington County Veterans Affairs Commission’s help in arranging the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 18, members of Eastern Iowa Honor Flight presented a flag flown over the nation’s Capitol on Sept. 18.

In recognition of the Washington County Board of Supervisors and the Washington County Veterans Affairs Commission’s help in arranging the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 18, members of Eastern Iowa Honor Flight presented a flag flown over the nation’s Capitol on Sept. 18. Attending were, from left, Mike Potter, former director of media and public relations for Honor Flight; Sue Rich, county veterans service officer; Veterans Commissioner Jeff Johnston; Veterans Commission chair Terry Philips; George Rickey, director of media and public relations for Honor Flight; and Veterans Commissioner Darren Dennler.
Potter said the county had arranged the buses for the trip and the commission had organized the flight. He said the county had put the entire flight together.
