Hup-two-three

Students from Fairfield High School receive a workout they won’t soon forget during a weeklong fitness camp this month at the Iowa Army National Guard Armory in Fairfield. Sgt. 1st Class Jesse Howard, who handles recruiting and retention at the armory, said the mission of the fitness camp was to educate the participants in not just fitness, but also nutrition, teamwork, anti-bullying programs and leadership. About 40-45 students participated in the five-day camp, a number Howard was very pleased with. All the students received a T-shirt, and those who showed exceptional leadership in helping their fellow campers were honored with a special certificate. Participants pull a Humvee as fast as they can down a driveway during one of the competitions. The students were also timed when they pushed the Humvee to its original location.
