IMS girls’ comeback falls just short

Feb 07, 2014

WINFIELD - IMS came back from an 11-point third-quarter deficit to force overtime but in the end did not have enough to pull off a big win on Thursday, Feb. 6.
IMS was led by senior Olivia Yutzy’s 23 points.  Senior Kristin Davis put in 12 points.
Coach Aaron Gingerich commented,  “I thought our girls showed a lot of heart to fight back and force overtime after being down big in the third period.  Obviously it hurts to lose another close game but we are playing the top of the conference extremely tough and I think that is a good sign heading into tournament play.”
IMS is now 10 - 9 overall, 9 - 9 in SEISC games. They play on Friday, Feb. 7 at home against Wapello. Friday night’s game is Senior Night for IMS.
