IMS' Miller competes in all-star cross-country meet
ANKENY — IMS senior Cody Miller was a member of the winning Southeast team at Saturday’s Iowa Association of Track Coaches Senior All-Star cross-country meet on the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny.
Miller finished 45th out of 91 runners at the meet, crossing the finish line in 17:15.
The Southeast squad, led by Fort Madison senior Isaac Steffensmeier’s second-place finish, won the meet with 33 points. The Northeast squad took second place with 45 points.
The meet capped an outstanding high school cross-country career for Miller. As a freshman, he was the No. 7 runner on IMS’ state championship team. The next year he earned all-conference honors and was the No. 3 runner on the IMS team that placed sixth at the state meet. And after taking a break last fall to explore his acting career, he returned this season and earned all-conference honors before placing 23rd at the state meet.
