IMS wins with offensive explosion
KALONA - After struggling to score goals this season, the Iowa Mennonite School’s boys’ soccer team found its own nets to be friendly in a 12-2 win in its home opener on Tuesday, April 15 against Mediapolis.
Leading IMS in goals was Alex Kurtz, who had three. Eli Gingerich, Kobi Rossum and Reggie Hostetler each scored twice. Single goals were added by Enrique Sanchez, Spencer Schrock and Kirby Shetler.
Jorey Conrad played the first half in the net for IMS and made two saves en route to shutting out the Bulldogs in his 40-minutes. Cole Yoder took over at the half and made two saves.
IMS is now 2 – 2 overall, 2 – 1 in Southeast Iowa Super Conference matches. IMS returns to action Tuesday, April 22, traveling to Burlington Notre Dame for another conference match.
