Iowa Mennonite School girls fare well in meet at Durant
DURANT - The Iowa Mennonite School’s girls’ track team competed well in a meet on Tuesday, April 22 at Durant.
Riley Schmieder had a great meet recording two personal best times. She placed second in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 28.47 seconds. She was also third in the 800-meter run with a new personal best time of 2:39.32. Schmieder also ran the 100 meter dash finishing in 20.58.
Michaela Gingerich also had a personal best time of 3:22.38 in the 800. Gingerich ran the 3,000-meter run for the first time finishing in 14:46.
Grace Belin competed in three events. She ran the 100-meter dash in 15.86, the 200-meter dash in 32.54 and the 100-meter hurdles in 21.95. This was Belin’s first time competing in the hurdles and 200 at the high school level.
IMS will compete again on Thursday, May 1 at WACO.
