JV girls’ recap
FORT MADISON – The Washington girls’ junior varsity track and field team had members place in several events in a meet on Tuesday, April 1.
Makenna Reighard and Hannah Purner finished the 200-meter dash in 31.28 and 33 seconds, placing them fourth and sixth.
In the 400-meter dash, Reighard placed third with her time of 1:15.42. Purner and Bryanna DeLong placed fifth and sixth in the 400 with times of 1:16.7 and 1:17.8.
Aubrey Zimmer had a time of 3:04.28 in the 800-meter dash. Her time was good for fourth place.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Kaitlin Roush took fourth place in 21.56. Roush then went on to take first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:29.46.
The 4x800-meter relay team of DeLong, Stephanie Gutierrez, Sammie Landstrum and Zimmer placed third in 12:27.36.
Makenna Goodwin’s shot put throw of 27-9 placed her second. Goodwin then made a first-place discus throw at 72-3. Mackenzee Schwab threw the discus 63-1 and Zimmer had a discus throw of 55-4. Schwab placed third and Zimmer placed sixth in the discus.
