The Washington Kiwanis AMers met at 6:45 a.m. Friday, April 19, at the Washington Community Y, with 23 members; four Builders Club members; and guests Reece and Teig Mayer, Chase Greiner, Kaylin and Addie Long.
President Haraold Gruber reported that the District Annual Conference will be held Aug. 9-10 at Altoona. He passed thank-you notes from Kirkwood scholarship recipients. He challenged members to have a goal of inviting one person each month to the meetings.
Club elections will be held the end of May and Harald asked for volunteers for president-elect and two board members. A program is needed for the May 3 meeting.
Past-president Kevin Erpelding awarded Holly Mueller the Kiwanian of the Year Award and her three-year perfect attendance certificate.
Curt Mayer reminded the club that Kiwanis One Day would be held April 24 at Washington Middle School. Members would be planting 24 trees for the Trees for Kids grant project.
Jim Rosien reported that three members went to Builders Club and scheduled an interclub to Mt. Pleasant on Monday, April 22.
Brian Blodgett scheduled the Highway Cleanup for 8 a.m. Saturday, April 27.
The program was given by Lena Adams on the upcoming 30-hour Famine project at First Christian Church on April 26.
