Kleese family holds 81st annual reunion
The 81st Annual Kleese Reunion was held July 21, at Marr Park Conservation Center, east of Washington. Vice President Joe Wright welcomed the assembled and Wilma Wright asked the blessing before the 12:30 p.m. cooperative meal.
Minutes of the previous reunion were read and approved. Patricia Dusenbery, Kleese family historian reported three marriages, nine births, and one death during the past year. Patricia Dusenbery was the oldest family member present. Lydia Jean Starbuck, 5 months old, was the youngest. Patricia Dusenbery of Washington traveled the least and John Griffith, Grand Forks, N.D., traveled the farthest. Correspondence was read from family members who could not attend.
Barry Griffith shared with the group a journal kept by his father Paul Griffith while working for his grandfather Harry Kleese during the Depression years.
Family members updated others about happenings during the past year.
Officers elected for the 2014 year were Barry Griffith, president/treasurer ; John Griffith, vice president; Ruth Maddalozzo, secretary; Patricia Dusenbery remains Kleese family historian.
