Lake Darling’s new features
A new bridge in the campground, above, and new jettys and islands are among the new attractions that Lake Darling State Park will boast when it opens for business later this month after having been drained for over five years as part of a project to remove silt from the lake. The project, which was originally scheduled to last three years, was delayed several times. A grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting is scheduled for July 24 at the main entrance to the campground. A long stretch of Highway 78, which runs past the park, is also being renamed the ‘Ding’ Darling Highway.
