Leyden leads a field of 57 golfers at Cedarcrest Country Club
COLUMBUS JUNCTION — The group of area golfers that travels eastern Iowa to play in outings to raise money for the American Cancer Society held its season-opening event at Cedarcrest Country Club in Columbus Junction on Tuesday, May 21.
Mike Leyden fired a 72 to lead a field of 57 golfers, while Craig Arbuckle and Doug Dunlap both shot a 78.
Leyden won the handicap competition, while Jim Almelien and Russ Parker tied for second place. LaVerne Geyer and Bob Pope tied for fourth place, and Ira Wagner finished sixth. Arbuckle, Dunlap, Ed Weeks and Francis Johnston all tied for seventh place.
