Library staff to attend conference, show documentary
The Washington Public Library will be closed until 5:30 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday so staff members can attend the Iowa Library Association conference in Coralville. The library will be open from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 3 to 5 p.m. Friday.
Next Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., the library will be showing the film "Bully" as part of the ongoing Documentary Film Series. All of these films have ties to Iowa, and "Bully" is being shown in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month. The film discusses peer-to-peer bullying across America, including in a Sioux City school. The film deals with difficult concepts and is not recommended for children under 13.
