Washington Community Y director Becky Harkema, left, and aquatic director Kara Batt, right, thank Paul and Kathryn Kuhlman for their donation to purchase a chair lift for the Y’s pool. The lift was donated in honor of Anna (McCormick) Rich. Rich attended the Washington Y day camps as a child and was a member of the local swim team. She also served as a lifeguard at the Y. Following graduation, she worked for a homeless shelter in Ames sponsored by the Y. Rich died May 19, 2011.
