Live Animal Christmas play — a Christmas tradition

The 38th Live Animal Christmas Play is an indoor theatrical production that tells the story of Christmas through music and drama. The compelling dramatic journey will take you from a market place in Nazareth to a manger in Bethlehem, where baby Jesus is born. Watch as King Herod, the Roman soldiers and many Jews try to destroy the Messiah. The production finishes with Jesus’ glorious resurrection.
You will enjoy camels, reindeer, llama, sheep, goats, cows, donkeys, chickens, red tail hawk, horses, dogs, a fat pig and much more! You will have an opportunity to get up close to many wonderful animals! The kids are sure to enjoy it!
The show includes more than eight live musical specials as well as scores of musical productions that will stir the Christmas spirit within you. The play also features various state-of-the-art theater technologies. In addition to state-of-the-art stage lighting, the crowd will be awed by special effects such as fog, confetti blasts, and a live flying angel hovering over the congregation.
Members of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church comprise the cast and crew; they spend hundreds of hours to plan, prepare and perform the play each year. You are invited to attend any or all of the free performances. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The 2013 production will be presented Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. It will also be presented on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The show location is the Marion Avenue Baptist Church, 215 South Marion Avenue in Washington.
