Lois Rae Drayfahl, 75, of Ainsworth, died Monday, April 24, 2017, in Marcy Hospital in Iowa City following a courageous battle with Parkinsons.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, in the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Calling hours will begin at noon Friday in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be held in Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. Memorials may be made to the Ainsworth First Responders and the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Mrs. Drayfahl was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Lamoni, the daughter of Claude and Helen (Rockhold) Dickerson. She attended school in Washington. She married Jim Drayfahl on Aug. 10, 1958 in Washington.

She was a homemaker and worked for a short time at the Washington County Hospital. She enjoyed watching birds, mowing her yard, and was an avid NASCAR and Chicago Cubs fan. She loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, of Ainsworth; daughter, Deb Roth and husband Rudy of Wayland; sons, Jimmy Drayfahl of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ron Drayfahl of Ainsworth; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill Kindred and wife Judy of Marquette, Norma Stutzman of Willard, Missouri, Kate Ahrens of Quincy, Illinois, Jean Black of Washington, Maggie Elliott and husband Bob of Iowa City, Gary Dickerson of Denver, Colorado, and Mike Dickerson of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandchild; a brother, Carl Kindred; and a sister, Ruby Liechty.
