KALONA — Lowell Gordon Brenneman, 87, of Wellman died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Parkview Manor in Wellman.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 17, at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Don Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A general memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Brenneman was born Jan. 11, 1930, in Kalona, the son of Ora and Gertrude (Yoder) Brenneman. He married Lucille Swartzendruber on Aug. 13, 1950, at the Wellman Mennonite Church.
He attended Woodland rural country school. He was a machinery dealer for 40 years. He was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church, where he held many church offices and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed spending time with family, visiting with people, eating out and traveling.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Brenneman and wife Nancy of Wellman, and Lowell Gregory Brenneman and wife Edwina of Swisher; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Nita Erb of Kalona; one brother, Clair Brenneman and wife Faye of Palmer Lake, Colorado; and one brother-in-law, Wayne Miller of Wellman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; one sister, Audrey Miller; and one brother-in-law, John Erb.
