Marion Avenue Baptist Church to celebrate 40th anniversary
Marion Avenue Baptist Church will begin celebrating its 40th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 29. It will be a nostalgic Homecoming Sunday as former pastor Evangelist Larry Brown, and former assistant pastor Dr. Terry Anglea will be preaching the services on this day.
Many exciting events are planned for the day. The preaching services will include a special anniversary program, as well as special music from the 50-voice Marion Avenue choir and the Epley family. The fun and excitement will continue after the morning service with a full-scale carnival and cookout for all of the children at the Washington Country Fairgrounds, as well as a delicious dinner for everyone in attendance.
The church welcomes everyone to “come home” to Marion Avenue Baptist Church for this special Homecoming Celebration. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
For free transportation to these activities, please call 319-653-4113, or contact the church through its Web site at <marionavenuebaptist.com>.
The anniversary festivities will continue through Tuesday, Oct. 1, with the Midwest Pastors and Workers Conference.
