Martha Washington Questers
Twelve members of the Martha Washington Questers No. 1032 met in the home of Margie Lasek on Sept. 28. President Vicki Ealy opened the meeting by the group reading the Questers Invocation in unison. Gerry Schmidt, secretary, read the minutes of the May and August meetings. Vicki gave the treasurer's report, which was the same as the last report.
A book will be placed in the church library in memory of Madora Smith.
Vicki reviewed the plans and responsibilities of individuals for Area Day at the Methodist Church on Oct. 6.
Margie asked the group to vote on a wall hanging she made and was donating for a door prize. She shared three hangings and the finch received the most votes.
Margie gave the program on Mayo Hospital and Clinics in Rochester, Minn. She shared her history of hip problems and her experiences at the Mayo Hospital. The hospital helped Rochester earn the title "City of Wheel Chairs."
Delicious refreshments were served by the co-hostess Linda Newton.
The next meeting will be Oct. 26, at the home of Linda Newlon with Vicki Ealy serving as co-hostess. Pat Johnson will give her program on "Ioway Indians of S.E. Iowa."
