Mid-Prairie cruises to win over Durant

WELLMAN — A big first half lifted No. 10 Mid-Prairie to a 46-35 win over visiting Durant on Friday night inside Tim Grady Gymnasium.
The Golden Hawks (4-2, 3-2 Cedar Valley Conference) led 33-11 at halftime.
Senior Mariah Swartzentruber, who finished in double figures for the fourth consecutive game, scored 15 points to lead Mid-Prairie. The Golden Hawks’ post players — senior Jessie Butters and sophomore Taylor Kurtz — combined for 17 points and 20 rebounds. Kurtz had 10 points and seven boards, while Butters scored seven points and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds.
Senior Sidney Lilienthal scored 14 points to lead the Wildcats (3-4, 2-2 CVC).
