Mid-Prairie High School, The Music Man to illuminate the stage in April
WELLMAN — The Mid-Prairie High School Drama Department is busily preparing for the April musical "The Music Man." Thirty-six cast members will perform Iowa-native Meredith Willson’s famous show on April 25, 26 and 27. Ross Schumaker, the new musical director, shares his excitement with a line from the script, “76 trombones led the big parade! With a hundred and ten cornets.” A family-oriented performance, "The Music Man" will keep you twisting and turning in your seat, hoping Harold Hill chooses good over evil.
This year’s leading man is senior Jonah Van Roekel, playing the con man Harold Hill, and this year’s leading lady is senior Claire Wilson as the young, attractive Marian Paroo.
Junior Haylee Marner, who plays the quirky Mrs. Paroo, said, “Jonah spreads his enthusiastic, contagious energy throughout the entire cast. I’m excited for three great shows next month!”
The Music Man at Mid-Prairie High School Auditorium steals the stage Friday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. Please contact MP Drama Ticket Sales Director Sandy Marner at 319-325- 6020.
