Mid-Prairie keeps hot streak alive with victory over Tipton
WELLMAN - Mid-Prairie High School’s girls’ basketball team continued on their hot streak last Friday in a River Valley Conference game against the Tipton Tigers, winning their fourth game in a row 43 – 20.
As a team the Golden Hawks shot 43 percent (16/37) from the field, 1/5 from 3-point range and 10/21 from the free-throw line. Mid-Prairie’s other team totals were 13 assists, 11 steals and one block.
Senior Courtney Shalla had three assists. Junior Ashley Shalla, sophomore Alex Rath and junior Lexi Duwa all had two steals. Freshman Ireland Hostetler recorded the blocked shot.
Mid-Prairie is now 8 – 5 overall, 8 – 3 in the RVC. They are on the court next at home against Durant – Bennett on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
