Mid-Prairie's McArtor finishes 20th at state
FORT DODGE — Mid-Prairie senior Mallory McArtor wrapped up her cross-country career with a second straight top-20 finish at the state meet in Fort Dodge.
McArtor, who finished 18th last year, took 20th place in the Class 2A race on Saturday at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course. She crossed the finish line in 15:47.
Meanwhile, the Mid-Prairie boys’ cross-country team took 12th place out of 15 teams in Class 2A on Saturday. The Golden Hawks tallied 276 points.
Sophomore Jared Draper finished 55th in 17:26 to lead the Golden Hawks, and freshman Ryan Errthum crossed the finish line one second later in 57th place. Junior Ty Feigenspan came in 76th in 17:46, and senior Jake O’Donnell finished one second later in 78th place. Junior Evan Wild’s 94th-place finish in 18:08 rounded out the scoring. Junior Zeb Schwartz finished 107th in 18:26, and junior Wyatt Cady was 110th in 18:35.
