Middle School boys host track meet
WASHINGTON – The Washington Middle School boys’ track and field team hosted a six-team meet on Tuesday, May 13. Washington placed fourth with 52 team points.
Washington (Trevor Leyden, Tristin Westphal-Edwards, Mason Sinn and Garrett Ikerd) took first place in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1 minute, 58.89 seconds. Cade Pohren was the runner-up in the 100-meter dash in 14.27. In the 4x800-meter relay, Washington (Ben Loy, Mitchell Driscoll, David Hora and Walker Ikerd) came in second place with a time of 11:11.94.
Washington (Caleb Suchan, Ben Bohr, Loy and Cade Hennigan) also took second in the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:16.9. The sprint relay (Leyden, Kyle Dallmeyer, Sinn and G. Ikerd) placed second with a time of 2:03.8. In the 4x100-meter relay, Washington (Leyden, Westphal-Edwards, Sinn and G. Ikerd) finished second in 57.77.
Marshall Patterson was third in the discus with a throw of 85 feet. Hennigan did the same in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.35. Washington’s top heat in the distance medley (Dallmeyer, Hennigan, Ben Schiefer and David Hora) recorded a fourth-place time of 5:14.89.
Dallmeyer scored for Washington in the 200-meter dash, as his time of 31.27 was good for fourth place. Washington’s second distance medley heat (Riley Lambert, Westphal-Edwards, Porhen and Logan Escher) took fifth place in 5:15.77. W. Ikerd was fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:09.8. Pohren placed fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:43.83.
