Miller announces candidacy
Abe Miller has announced that he will be seeking the District 3 Supervisor seat
He wants to help make a difference in the community, especially preserving our inalienable rights (Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness). These rights, coupled with his commitment to listen to people, constitute his core values and will be the foundation of his service if elected.
Abe hopes to focus on three issues which he believes are important to county residents: Roads, business growth, and controlling the cost of county governance.
According to Abe, “Common sense tells us; increased road use creates increased maintenance. This is a problem we have to solve; borrowing 8 million dollars to build narrow roads for wider and heavier traffic was and is not the answer.” He believes strongly business should be able to chart its own course without undue interference (i.e.: county zoning) to encourage growth and job creation. He also believes that government must be as small and efficient as possible, and would work hard to encourage personnel and departmental efficiency within county government.
Abe has been a small-business owner for over 30 years and has 13 years’ experience in insurance and investments. Abe and his wife Jan of 43 years, have lived in Brighton the last 18 years, where he has been an active member of the Brighton Lions Club for 15 years including two terms as president, a member of the Brighton First church of God and their worship team, and was chairman of their new church building project. Abe is a charter member of Free County and served as co-chair for three years.
