It was business as usual today at WACO Elementary School in Crawfordsville after WACO Schools Superintendent Darrell Smith reported Tuesday evening that mold was found to be present in the school. He reported the district is working with L.J. Roth Restoration to determine the type of mold. Upon identification, the district will develop a protocol to remove the mold. He said that there had been a simple test done for mold, and a more extensive test was completed Tuesday, for which the results are expected by the end of the week. He said that he does not believe there is a big problem, but that the district wanted to take care of the problem before it becomes worse. Smith said that the district would keep students, staff, parents, patrons and the news media informed of progress.
