The six-wheeled Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle that was given by the federal government to the Washington Police Department arrived Thursday afternoon on a flatbed semi. It is in storage at a city garage. Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman said that the city is continuing to work with other cities and counties to gather contracts for the use of the vehicle. Goodman said he wanted to make sure the vehicle arrived before the contracts were signed. He also said that some modifications will have to be made to the vehicle. Pictured with the MRAP are Sgt. Shawn Ellingson and Officer Jamie Townsend.
