National Honor Society names new members
The Faculty Council at Washington High School has named 16 new members to the National Honor Society. Thirteen juniors and three seniors were elected to membership.
The new senior members are: Brittany Stephanie, daughter of Tom and Kimberly Stephanie; Pasoari Widiastuti, daughter of Roger and Lori Adams; Austin Witt, son of Fred and Pam Witt.
Juniors named to membership are: Stephanie Fishback, daughter of Larry and Brenda Fishback; Madeline Hora, daughter of Brian and Theresa Hora; Mary Kate Horak, daughter of Paul and Lynn Horak; Alex Kleinmeyer, son of Julie Kleinmeyer and Mark Kleinmeyer; Amber Linnenkamp, daughter of Chris and Kim Linnenkamp; Marisa Powers, daughter of David and Lauren Powers; Ashley Rausch, daughter of Jason and Monique Rausch; Ty Stender, son of Steve and Kathy Stender; Jiovanni Tapia, son of Martin and Rosa Tapia; Mallory Van Winkle, daughter of Duane and Linda Van Winkle; Holly Vittetoe, daughter of Jerry and Deb Vittetoe; Katlynn Wellington, daughter of Earl and Susan Wellington; Caitlin Yeggy, daughter of Julie Collins and Warren Yeggy.
To be eligible for membership, a 3.25 grade point average is required. Students are also considered for membership on the basis of character, leadership and service.
The local chapter of The American Association of University Women has organized a reception for the National Honor Society members and their parents to be held at the United Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. At that time these new members will be inducted into the Society.
