Naturalist plans prairie program for preschoolers
Explore the wonders of nature and the prairie with your preschooler. The Washington County Conservation Board will be hosting a “Small Wonders: Prairie Puzzles” program on Saturday, April 26. The program will begin at the Conservation Education Center in Marr Park at 10 a.m.
This hour-and-a-half program will be filled with hands-on activities, a hike, and a craft about the prairie in Iowa. We’ll use most of our senses to experience the feel, the sights, sounds, and smells of prairie plants and its wildlife.
In the case of recent rain, the hike may briefly cross slightly muddy ground.
All children, ages 3-5, must be accompanied by an adult.
The Conservation Education Center is located at the south end of Marr Park, one mile west of Ainsworth and six miles east of Washington on Highway 92.
