Nearly 150 people participate in fifth-annual Demon Dash

The fifth-annual Demon Dash, a four-mile and one-mile run/walk that is a fundraiser for the Washington Community Schools, was held on Saturday, with 143 people participating in the event.

Shawn Loy was the winner of the women’s overall title in the four-mile run, as she crossed the finish line in 28:31. She also won the women’s 40-49 age group.

Kaitlyn Mitchell won the girls’ 10-and-under division in 43:26, and Olivia Hartzler won the girls’ 11-18 division in 39:24. Jennifer Jorgensen won the women’s 19-29 division in 29:26, and Jenelle Graber took first place in the women’s 30-39 age group in 30:17. Virginia Jorgensen won the women’s 50-59 division in 34:31, and Cathy Kleese won the women’s 60-and-over age group in 51:10.

Jared Draper was the winner of the men’s overall title in the four-mile run, as he crossed the finish line in 24:17. He also won the 11-18 age group.

Noah Kleese won the boys’ 10-and-under division in 45:55. Colton Singbeil won the men’s 19-29 age group in 25:40, and Jamie Flynn won the men’s 30-39 division in 28:47. Brett Bruty won the men’s 40-49 division in 29:56, and Stanley Jones won the men’s 50-59 age group in 35:57.

Hailey Flynn won the girls’ 10-and-under one-mile run in 8:39, and Katy Wellington won the girls’ 11-18 age group in 17:49. Brooksie Flynn won the women’s 19-29 division in 7:51, and Heather Snakenberg took first place in the women’s 30-39 division in 9:15. Kathy Salazar won the women’s 40-49 age group in 9:43, and Susan Wellington took first place in the women’s 50-59 division in 20:01. Priscilla Reighard won the 60-and-over age group in 18:56.

Reed Hoffert won the boys’ 10-and-under one-mile run in 7:32, and Hayden Westphal won the boys’ 11-18 age group in 8:54. Derick Ball took first place in the men’s 19-29 division in 21:10, and Tim Marek won the men’s 40-49 division in 20:18. Mike Jorgensen won the men’s 50-59 age group in 15:44, and Keith Lazar took first place in the 60-and-over division in 20:22.
