Entries are wanted for the Open Class Division of the Washington County Fair including numerous classes of hobbies – art and photography, all crafts, all types of needlework and quilts, woodworking, culinary, flowers and plants as well as dried arrangements. The largest vegetable contest will be held again this year. These entries can be brought to the old schoolhouse building on the fairgrounds on Monday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and there are entry fees. Judging by Bonnie Knutson of Kalona will begin at 1 p.m. with premiums for first- and second-place and rosette ribbons being awarded.

Exhibits can be picked up on Thursday, July 18 at 8 p.m. For further information, a complete listing of classes can be found in the fair issue available at the Washington County Extension office and by calling Judy Sieren at 641-636-2104 or Shirley Bohr at 319-646-6512. Special displays by a person or group are also welcome.
