Police department waits for word to pick up MRAP
Washington City Administrator Brent Hinson said today that Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman is still waiting to hear when the city can pick up the government surplus Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle.
Hinson said Goodman has worked out a deal to have the vehicle trucked from a military base in Texas to Washington for a low price. Hinson also said that Goodman has been working on contracts with surrounding areas for use of the vehicle. He said nothing has been finalized, but contact has been made with other area law enforcement agencies and a structure for the agreement has been proposed.
