Officials from the Des Moines County Jail called to report a subject in their jail located at the 400 block of North Third in Burlington has a warrant from Washington County. Michael Anthony Payne, 27, of Burlington, was arrested for offense/probation violation on sex offender register violation bond, which was set at $50,000. Detainer was placed with Des Moines County Jail for Payne.
A male subject was in the lobby of the Washington County Jail at the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard to turn himself in on a warrant. Kristopher Jeffrey Ennen, 23, of Ottumwa, was arrested. He was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear for arraignment for theft to the third degree. His bond was set at $2,000.
A caller reports he hit a deer and totaled his vehicle in the 1100 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman. Dispatch advised caller to fill out a state accident report if the damage was over $1,500. The incident was documented.
A two-vehicle accident with no injuries was reported at the 200 block of South Marion Avenue in Washington. A state accident report will be filed. Damaged to a vehicle was over $1,500. Ronald Brock, of Washington, was cited for improper backing.
A caller reported a vehicle scratched the driver’s side door of his vehicle in the parking lot at the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department spoke with the caller and documented the incident.
A two-vehicle accident was reported in Johnson County at Highway 1 and 560th Street. Kalona Fire and Kalona QRS responded.
A caller in the 200 block of South Van Buren Street in Brighton came home and found the doors open to the residence. Caller said it didn’t appear that anything had been taken. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded. There will be documentation only of the incident at this time.
A caller reported suspicious vehicles at the 400 block of East Main Street in the alley in Washington. The vehicles were described as two small four-door sedans. The Washington Police Department responded. The vehicles have left the area.
A caller requested an officer to check his residence for his vehicle at the 1500 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington. He has had some suspicious activity on his bank account and is concerned his son may have taken his bank card and his vehicle. The Washington Police Department responded and found the vehicle at the residence.
Family offense non-violent
A caller reported a 10-year-old out of control at the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. While on 911 the subject and mother left. Caller is requesting to speak with a sheriff’s deputy. The Sheriff’s deputy was advised to address the issue with the mother of the subject. The child was removed from the home for the night.
A caller from the 1200 block of 310th Street in Brighton reported hearing approximately 10 gunshots in the last 10 minutes. Caller believes the gunshots are coming from the spillway at Lake Darling. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded and were unable to locate the shooters.
