Bret James Tratchel, 42, of Riverside, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Monroe County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of second-degree theft.
Kayla Marie Knuth, 22, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 1000 block of North Eighth Avenue in Washington on an Iowa County warrant for witness tampering.
Edgar Jesus Hernandez, 22, of Columbus Junction, was arrested Wednesday evening in the 400 block of North Third in Burlington for probation violation on prohibited acts.
A car was reported partially blocking a driveway in the 500 block of South E Avenue in Washington. Officers spoke with the caller and the owner of the bank.
A field fire was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 1200 block of Orange Avenue in Kalona. Kalona and Riverside fire departments responded.
A field fire was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 2200 block of Riverside Road in Washington. Washington Fire Department responded. It was a controlled burn that had gone out of control. The fire was extinguished.
A ditch and field fire was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 1700 block of Spruce Avenue in Ainsworth. Riverside and Ainsworth fire departments responded.
A fire in the 1200 block of Orange Avenue in Kalona reportedly rekindled Wednesday afternoon. Kalona and Wellman fire departments responded.
A grass fire was reported out of control Wednesday afternoon in the 1900 block of Underwood Avenue in Ainsworth. Ainsworth and Riverside fire departments responded.
A fire/water flow alarm was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of B Avenue in Kalona. The business called to advise there was a loss of pressure in the tank that set off the alarm.
All other thefts
The theft of funds due to a bad check was reported Wednesday morning in the 2700 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. A report will be filed.
A caller in the 300 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Wednesday afternoon that someone had stolen a gun from his residence.
A subject reportedly fueled up in the 1500 block of East Washington Street in Washington and drove away while the hose was still in the tank. The break away at the top was damaged. Damages were valued at $75. The pump was repaired on officers’ arrival. The incident was documented.
A possible domestic disturbance was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of South Sixth Avenue in Kalona. A broken window was reported in a trailer and the caller could see the trailer rocking back and forth. The caller later advised it was someone knocking on her own trailer, making it rock. Officers responded. No one was at the residence.
Eight tires were reported dumped Wednesday morning in the 100 block of East First Street in Riverside. The incident was documented.
Loud music was reported coming from an apartment in the 600 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded. The music was turned down.
A welfare check was requested Wednesday morning on a subject in the 200 block of 10th Avenue in Wellman. The subject’s whereabouts were verified. No problem.
