Arrests

Nathan Don Stoutner of Keota was arrested Tuesday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on a Keokuk County warrant for probation violation.

Joshua Lee Holmes, 28, of Ainsworth, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington for driving while barred and window obstructed vision.

Sharon Lucia Thornton, 39, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 1100 block of East Taylor Street in Washington for possession of a controlled substance.

David Sebastian Riness, 19, of Brighton, was arrested Wednesday night at G36 and 12th Avenue in Washington for a probation violation.

Amy Sue Anderson, 37, of Washington, was arrested Wednesday night in the 100 block of North Second Avenue in Washington for possession of a controlled substance.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle was reported Wednesday morning at Highway 218 and 135th Street in Riverside in the ditch facing the wrong way. No one was around. The incident was documented.

A vehicle accident was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of North B Avenue in Washington. Information was exchanged.

 

Traffic other

A caller in the 2400 block of Yucca Avenue in Ainsworth reported Wednesday morning that a truck was always driving on a mud road and tearing it up. Officers spoke with the drivers.

 

Assault

A subject reportedly became combative toward a nurse Wednesday night in the 400 block of East Polk Street in Washington. Officers responded. The subject had left. The hospital called back and stated a report needed to be filed due to the assault on the nurse.

 

All other thefts

A skateboard was reported stolen Wednesday evening in the 1000 block of North Sixth Street in Washington. Officers responded. A suspect was advised to return the skateboard.

 

Illegal dumping

A caller in the 500 block of West Jefferson Street in Washington reported Wednesday evening that there was a pile of trash in her front yard. Officers responded.

 

Animal complaints

A dog was reported tied out Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington for longer than the allotted time. Officers responded. The dog was taken inside.

A loose cow was reported Wednesday afternoon in the 1100 block of E Avenue in Kalona. The Kalona Sale barn was advised.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 700 block of 12th Avenue in Wellman reported Wednesday evening having issues with their foster child. Officers responded. The child was counseled.

A caller in the 2100 block of Palm Avenue in Washington reported Wednesday evening her mother and stepfather were fighting. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Suspicious activity

Four juveniles were reported walking in the 600 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington Wednesday afternoon. The subjects were reportedly walking out in front of cars and throwing things. Officers responded.
