Jamie Allen Medulan, 39, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on an Iowa State Patrol warrant for failure to appear for trial on a charge of driving under suspension.
A vehicle accident was reported Tuesday afternoon at West Jefferson Street and South Iowa Avenue in Washington. Under $1,500 damage was reported.
A grain truck reportedly crossed through the median at Highway 218 and 192nd Street in Ainsworth and was travelling northbound in the southbound lane. The truck was gone on officers’ arrival.
A caller in the 100 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday night that his truck was damaged while parked in Washington. The caller had struck a fire hydrant. The incident was documented. The city was notified.
Lumber was reported lying in the roadway in the 400 block of West Fifth Street in Washington. Officers responded. The lumber was removed.
A fire was reported in a shop in the 1200 block of Hoot Owl Hollow in Keota Tuesday morning. The caller reported things were exploding inside and there was black smoke. Keota Fire, Brighton Fire, Washington Fire, Washington County Ambulance and officers responded.
Brighton Fire Department was requested Tuesday afternoon in the 2900 block of 136th Street in Brighton to reports of grass and trash around a vacant house being on fire. The fire was extinguished.
Riverside Fire Department was requested Tuesday afternoon in the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue in Iowa City for a station change.
A jeep was reported on fire Tuesday evening in the 300 block of West Columbus Street in Crawfordsville. Crawfordsville Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
All other thefts
A caller in the 2200 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Keota reported Tuesday night that a subject had stolen money from him. Officers attempted to contact the subject.
A caller in the 1400 block of West Fifth Street in Washington reported Tuesday morning that a subject was continually harassing an employee and slandering the business on the Internet. Officers spoke with the mother of the juvenile.
A caller in the 700 block of East Second Street in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon that a subject continually called her and tried to scam money from her. Officers attempted to contact the other party. The incident was documented.
Several juveniles were reported yelling and screaming Tuesday evening in the 900 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington and several of them had BB guns. Officers responded. The juveniles had Airsoft guns and had put them away for the evening.
A caller in the 70 block of East First Street in Riverside reported Tuesday night that a large group of possibly intoxicated subjects was outside. Officers were unable to locate.
A dog was reported outside all day and night with no shelter and on a leash Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of East Madison Street in Washington. Officers spoke with the owner, who was made aware of the five-hour leash ordinance. A verbal warning was given.
A dog was reported running loose in the 90 block of North Washington Street in Riverside Tuesday night. Officers responded. The dog was returned home. The owners were advised of the complaint.
All other offenses
Two subjects reportedly left a school in the 1100 block of South B Avenue in Washington Tuesday afternoon. Officers located the subjects in Hayes Timber.
A 15-year-old subject was reported out-of-control Tuesday evening in the 600 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subject calmed down.
Family offense non violent
A caller in the 400 block of South Harrison Street in Brighton reported Tuesday night that a 16-year-old subject would not return home. Officers responded. The juvenile was returned home.
A welfare check was requested Tuesday night on a subject in the 1000 block of North Second Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The subject was transported to the Washington County Hospital.
