Arrests

Jason Lee Walton Jr., 22, of Riverside, was arrested Monday evening at 130th and Riverside Road in Riverside for probation violation on going armed with a knife.

 

Traffic accidents

An accident causing damage to a bridge guardrail was reported Monday morning in the 1400 block of Highway 1 in Kalona. Officers were advised. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Monday afternoon in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside. Kylie Wrede of North Liberty was cited for no proof of insurance.

 

Assault

A caller in the 500 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported Monday morning being assaulted on Sunday. Officers were advised.

A caller in the 100 B Avenue in Kalona reported Tuesday morning being assaulted. The caller stated that he opened the door and a subject hit him in the face and left. Officers responded.

 

Weapons violation

A gun was reported located Monday morning in the 1400 block of 190th Street in Keota. Officers responded.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A green bottle with a white powdery substance was reported Friday evening at Highways 22 and 218 in Riverside. Officers responded.

 

Burglary

A possible break in was reported Monday afternoon in the 2000 block of West Main Street in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

 

All other thefts

Someone reportedly took a debit card from the caller’s wallet Friday evening in the 100 block of East Madison Street in Washington. A $20 purchase was made on the Internet. The incident was documented.

A handicapped placard was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of E Avenue in Kalona Saturday afternoon. Officers were advised.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $47.62 was reported Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers were advised.

A caller reported Sunday morning a subject had the caller’s jacket and was trying to sell it on the Internet. Officers spoke with the caller. It was a civil matter.

A gas drive-off in the amount of $25 was reported Sunday morning in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington. Officers attempted to locate.

A 55-gallon drum was reported missing from a residence in the 200 block of Franklin Street in West Chester. The incident was documented.

Both license plates were reported taken from a truck in the 300 block of North C Avenue in Washington Sunday evening. Officers responded.

A caller in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington reported Tuesday morning seeing someone load their bicycle into their car. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.

 

Vandalism

A building in the 400 block of North Iowa Avenue in Washington was reported egged Saturday morning. The incident was documented.

A youth center shelter in the 3100 block of Dogwood Avenue in Washington was reported vandalized Monday afternoon. Officers responded.

A caller in the 1100 block of East Main Street in Washington reported Monday evening someone had put sunscreen all over her vehicle. Officers responded and spoke with several juveniles in the area. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A student was reported being non-compliant and threatening Friday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

A caller reported Sunday afternoon being stalked in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington. Officers responded and attempted to contact the other party to advise him to have no further contact.

 

Disorderly conduct

A subject reportedly wouldn’t leave a residence in the 500 block of North Second Avenue in Washington Friday night. Officers responded. The parties were separated.

A caller in the 700 block of 12th Avenue in Wellman reported Saturday afternoon that her 14-year-old foster son was out of control. Officers responded. Parents will take the juvenile to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for an evaluation. DHS case manager will be notified.

Officers were requested Monday morning in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington for an out-of-control student. Officers responded. The student calmed down.

A fight was reported Monday afternoon in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington. The incident is under investigation.

A caller in the 1300 block of 120th Street in Wellman reported Monday evening his brother tried to attack him. Officers responded. The mother also responded and will handle the situation.

 

Illegal dumping

Someone reportedly dumped five large garbage bags in a dumpster in the 200 block of West Washington Street in Washington. Officers responded.

Trash was reported thrown on a property in the 3000 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Brighton Saturday morning. Officers spoke with the caller.

A caller in the 600 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington reported Monday evening that someone had dumped items on his curb. The incident was documented.

 

DP&Q

Loud music was reported Saturday morning in the 20 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington. Officers responded.

Someone was reportedly shooting off fireworks Saturday night in the 200 block of North Harrison Street in Brighton. Officers were unable to locate.

Loud music was reported coming from a residence in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 1100 block of Enterprise Drive in Riverside reported Monday morning that she terminated an employee and he had not left the property. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Monday morning to a store in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington regarding an incident that occurred the previous night. Officers spoke with the complainant regarding a customer who was in the store overnight and was verbally abusive to a clerk. Officers advised the complainant that the store needs to report these incidents when they occur.

 

Family offense non violent

A subject was reported at a residence in the 700 block of South Ninth Avenue in Washington Friday night and the caller did not want her there. Officers responded.

An officer reported Saturday evening being in the 400 block of East Madison Street in Washington speaking with two people who were having a domestic dispute. Verbal only.

 

Suspicious activity

A subject was reported lying in a ditch Saturday evening in the 2600 block of Wayland Road in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

A suspicious subject was reported Sunday afternoon in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. Officers responded. No problem.

A subject was reported Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington asking customers for money. Officers responded.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Saturday evening on a subject in the 400 block of West Tyler Street in Washington. Officers and Washington County Ambulance responded. No one was home.

A caller in the 300 block of C Avenue in Kalona requested a welfare check on his 8-year-old son who was staying with his ex-wife. Officers spoke with all parties. No problem.
