Alexander Sesher, 19, of Burlington, was arrested Thursday morning in the 400 block of North Third Avenue in Washington for failure to appear for arraignment on possession of marijuana.
Breanna Morgan Silva, 28, of Muscatine, was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of East Fifth Street in Muscatine on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on OWI.
Vincent Edward Smallwood, 34, of Keota, was arrested Thursday evening in the 200 block of South Green Street in Keota on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for a show cause hearing on public intoxication.
Alberto Zapata, 23, of Columbus City, was arrested Thursday night in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for operating while intoxicated.
A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Thursday night at 175th and Highway 218 in Riverside. The incident was documented.
A commercial fire alarm was reported Thursday morning in the 200 block of South Wiley Street in Washington. Washington Fire Department and officers responded. It was a false alarm.
A grass fire was reported out of control Thursday afternoon at Ivy Avenue and 240th Street in Keota. Washington Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
An out-of-control grass fire was reported Thursday afternoon in the 1700 block of 540th Street SW in Kalona. Kalona Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
A fight was reported Thursday evening at East Washington Street and North Van Buren Street in Brighton. Officers spoke with the parents of the juveniles, who agreed it was a playground fight.
A caller in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington reported Thursday night that her granddaughter returned home late, when asked about it, the granddaughter kicked her in the stomach and was out of control. No charges pertaining to the assault at this time. The juvenile stayed at the residence with a family member.
All other thefts
A caller in the 500 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported Thursday evening that a diamond ring was missing from her bedroom. The theft possibly occurred sometime within the last two years. The incident was documented.
Vandalism was reported Thursday morning in the 90 block of Railroad Street in Riverside. A report will be filed.
The back window of a vehicle was reported shattered Thursday evening in the 400 block of South Seventh Avenue in Washington. Officers responded.
A caller in the 900 block of Sixth Street in Wellman reported Thursday night that someone tried to break into the wash bay control box. A pry bar was used but entry was not gained. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 500 block of West Washington Street in Brighton reported Thursday afternoon that two subjects kept walking past his residence yelling expletives at him. One of the subjects called and reported the same thing about the original caller. Both were advised to have no further contact.
About 10 cars had reportedly gone down a private lane Thursday night in the 3100 block of 115th Street in Riverside. Officers spoke with the subjects, who were advised to use the Highway 22 entrance.
A dog was reported tied to a phone pole in the 300 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington Thursday afternoon. No one was around. The dog was going into the road and the caller was afraid it would get hit. Officers spoke with the owner.
Loud noises were reported coming from an apartment in the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington Thursday evening. The subjects who were visiting were not supposed to be on the property. Officers spoke with the tenant, who was alone in her apartment. It was quiet on arrival. Unfounded.
An officer reported being on a vehicle stop at Sixth Street and Eighth Avenue in Wellman Friday morning. Verbal warnings were given for curfew violations.
Family offense non violent
A caller in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington reported Thursday evening having problems with her 11-year-old granddaughter. Officers responded. The child calmed down.
A vehicle was reported sitting in the park in the 900 block of West Main Street in Washington overnight, a caller reported Thursday morning. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle.
Suspicious noises were reported in a residence in the 800 block of West Third Street in Washington Thursday morning. Officers were unable to locate any problems.
A caller in the 400 block of East Van Buren Street in Washington reported Thursday afternoon receiving a suspicious letter in the mail. The incident was documented.
