Melissa Dawn Campbell, 33, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 100 block of West Third Street in Riverside for driving under suspension and possession of schedule III prescription narcotics.
Benjamin James Curtis, 34, of Washington, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 100 bloc of North Iowa Avenue in Washington for public intoxication and subsequent.
Rollin J. Bontrager, 20, of Kalona, was arrested Monday evening in the 100 block of E Avenue in Kalona for failure to appear for mittimus on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Dennis Ray Donaldson, 47, of Wayland, was arrested Monday night in the 800 block of North Seventh Avenue in Washington for operating while intoxicated.
An out-of-control grass fire was reported Monday afternoon in the 1200 block of Highway 22 in Wellman. Wellman Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.
A large fire was reported Monday evening in the 3000 block of Birch Avenue in Brighton. Richland Fire was paged out. It was a controlled burn.
A caller in the 700 block of 12th Avenue in Wellman reported Monday night a subject was at her residence and had assaulted her. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.
A caller in the 800 block of East Madison Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon that his son was in possession of an iPod Touch and it did not belong to him. Officers responded. The item was seized.
A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington Monday night. The incident was documented.
An officer was requested Monday afternoon in the 1100 block of East Washington Street in Washington in reference to subjects being in the caller’s back yard. She said that she had asked them numerous times not to hang out in her yard. Officers spoke with the subjects. The caller’s younger brother had given the subjects permission to walk through the yard. The subjects were advised to stay off the property.
A caller reported Monday afternoon that over the past several weeks tires had been dumped in various places in the 3000 block of Highway 22 in Riverside.
A caller in the 2200 block of 170th Street in Kalona reported Monday afternoon a subject’s livestock was always on the roadway. The caller said that morning he had almost struck a 400 pound hog. Officers spoke with the owner, who was not aware two hogs had broken the pen down.
A caller in the 700 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington reported Monday evening that the neighbor’s dog was on a long leash that extended onto his property. Officers responded.
Angela Marie Freese, 40, of Ainsworth, was cited March 27 in the 400 block of Washington Street in Ainsworth for allowing a dog to bark.
All other offenses
A subject was reported sitting in a car in the 100 block of West Third Street in Riverside Monday afternoon and the caller reported she had been harassing her over property. The caller reported that when her boyfriend went outside the subject came at him with a knife.
A deputy was requested Monday night to check on an open door in the 300 block of Washington Street in Ainsworth. Officers responded.
Family offense non violent
A caller in the 300 block of West Main Street in Washington reported Monday afternoon being involved in a domestic situation with her boyfriend. She said the subject had left the residence but keeps coming back. The caller said the subject had shoved her head against the wall and punched a hole in the wall next to her head. Officers spoke with all parties. No assault occurred. The parties were separated.
An officer was requested Tuesday morning in the 100 block of East Fountain Street in Brighton because the caller’s son was out of control. Officers responded.
A deputy was requested Monday evening in the 200 block of 10th Avenue in Wellman about some personal property the caller wanted back. Officers spoke with the caller. The caller had sold a house seven years ago and left barn boards in the intent to get them. The owners were refusing to give him the boards. It was a civil matter.
A welfare check was requested on a subject in the 300 block of North C Avenue in Washington Monday afternoon. Officers responded.
