Arrests

Adam Richard Hotchkiss, 31, of Wayland, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington for probation violation on possession of marijuana.

 

Traffic accidents

An accident was reported Wednesday afternoon at Highway 92 and South Wiley Boulevard in Washington. Over $1,500 damage was reported. A state accident report will be filed.

A caller reported Wednesday afternoon that a car had struck her parked vehicle in the 1000 block of East Tyler Street in Washington. Under $1,500 damage was reported. Officers attempted to locate the other driver.

 

Traffic other

A caller reported Wednesday morning that a vehicle had cut around him at East Madison Street and South Iowa Avenue, cutting through a parking lot and traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

 

Fire calls

A gas smell was reported Wednesday night in a residence in the 100 block of Angle Street in Brighton. Officers and Brighton Fire Department responded. A small leak was found. City maintenance will handle the problem.

 

Vandalism

A caller in the 800 block of East 15th Street in Washington reported Wednesday morning someone ran over her mailbox. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported vandalized Wednesday night in the 1100 block of East Washington Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 1200 block of Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported Wednesday evening a subject drove through his yard. Officers responded and spoke with both parties. The caller will fix the ruts in the yard and the subject has agreed to pay for the damage.

A subject was reported in an apartment in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington Wednesday night. Officers responded. The subject had permission to be there.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Wednesday afternoon in the 2500 block of 275th Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Public service contact

A subject was reported in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington holding a sign asking for assistance Wednesday afternoon. Officers made contact with the subject, who was from Romania and is staying at a motel in another town. Her husband was getting their vehicle fixed. She wasn’t doing anything illegal.
