Traffic other

A vehicle was reported Monday afternoon parked in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington with a forward facing car seat in the front seat and a small child in it.

A caller in the 2500 block of 200th Street in Washington reported Monday night that three trucks drove through his grandmother’s yard and left ruts in the grass. They then continued west and were stuck on the mud road. A farmed had since pulled them out, but the caller had their license plate information. Officers were advised.

 

Fire calls

A fire was reported in the kitchen of a business in the 3100 block of Highway 22 in Riverside Monday evening. Riverside Fire Department and Washington County Ambulance responded. The fire had been extinguished prior to arrival.

A small fuel spill was reported Tuesday morning in the 3100 block of Highway 92 in Ainsworth. Ainsworth Fire Department responded and cleaned up the spill.

 

Search warrant

Officers reported Monday morning being in the 12000 block of County Road G56 of Wapello to execute a search warrant. Search warrants were executed.

 

Vandalism

A caller in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Monday evening that several juveniles were riding in a vehicle and throwing eggs at cars. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle.

 

Illegal dumping

A caller in the 1000 block of West Monroe Street in Washington reported Monday morning that trash was left in his business and he did not have a receptacle for it. Officers spoke with a suspect. Possible charges are pending.

 

All other offenses

Charges were filed Monday morning on Stephanie Ann Blanchett, 35, of Cedar Rapids for absence of custody.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 300 block of West Fifth Street in Washington reported Monday morning that a subject showed up at the caller’s residence Saturday. The caller told the subject that the subject was not to be there. The subject left. Officers spoke with both parties and the county attorney. The subject denied any contact. The subject was given a verbal warning.

An officer was requested Monday night in the 10 block of Parkside estates Road in Washington for a verbal altercation between the caller and his girlfriend. Officers responded. The male subject left for the night.

 

Runaway/missing person

A caller in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Monday evening her daughter had left the residence and was refusing to return home. Officers responded. The subject and a juvenile were later located. The mother was contacted and retrieved the vehicle.

A caller in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported Monday night that his daughter had walked away from the residence. She took a backpack with her. Officers responded. There was a dispute between father and daughter. The mother agreed it was best for the daughter to stay elsewhere. Officers attempted to locate.

 

Suspicious activity

A subject was reported Monday morning in the 400 block of Hickory Street in Kalona possibly violating a court order. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 900 block of South Second Avenue in Washington requested Monday morning to speak with an officer in reference to someone shaking and knocking on her door in the middle of the night. Officers spoke with the caller.

A suspicious vehicle was reported Monday morning in the 400 block of North Ella Street in Riverside. A subject had been sleeping in the cart all morning. Officers responded. No one was inside the vehicle.

A caller in the 3100 block of Highway 1 in Brighton reported Monday evening that a vehicle was parked on their property. Officers spoke with all parties. The subject was turkey hunting. No problem.
