Bret James Tratchel, 42, of Riverside, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 2100 block of Lexington Boulevard in Washington on an Appanoose County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of first-degree theft.
A subject reportedly hit a phone pole in the 900 block of East 15th Street in Washington Tuesday afternoon and a few subjects in the area were without phone service. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 1000 block of Kiwi Avenue in Kalona reported Tuesday afternoon that while burning trash, some had blown across the street and had started a field fire. Kalona Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.
A caller in the 3100 block of 117th Street in Brighton reported Tuesday afternoon that a controlled burn done Saturday had begun to rekindle. Brighton Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.
A brush fire was reported Tuesday night at 295th and Cedar Avenue in Brighton. Brighton Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished.
A fire alarm was reported Wednesday morning in the 800 block of East 15th Street in Washington. Officers and the Washington Fire Department responded. It was a false alarm.
An officer was requested Tuesday morning in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington regarding a fight that occurred between two students. Officers responded. Charges will be filed on Ethan Bever of Washington for serious assault.

Someone reportedly stole the rear license plate from a vehicle in the 2900 block of 315th Street in Crawfordsville, a caller reported Tuesday morning. Officers spoke with the caller. The incident was documented.
A caller in the 300 block of South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon a student had stolen a cell phone from another student. Charges of fifth-degree theft were filed on Madason Tuggle, 11, of Brighton.
A caller in the 300 block of West Washington Street in Washington reported Tuesday evening that when she returned to her apartment all the cupboards were open and money was missing from the coin jar. A report will be filed.
A BB gun was reported shot through a front window Tuesday morning in the 700 block of East Main Street in Washington. The incident was documented.
A caller reported Tuesday afternoon that someone had dumped tires in the 1600 block of 270th Street in Washington. The incident was documented. County Roads will be notified.
A caller in the 200 block of Fifth Street in Wellman reported Tuesday night that someone was inside her residence while she was at work. The incident was documented. It was possible the wind blew open the door.

A caller in the 200 block of East Washington Street in Washington reported Tuesday night that his son ran away from his mother’s house. Officers responded. The subject stayed with the father for the night.
A subject was reported walking along the 3100 block of Highway 1 in Brighton Tuesday evening. Officers were unable to locate.
