Traffic accidents

A caller in the 600 block of South B Avenue in Washington reported Thursday evening that a neighbor’s truck had hit her sister’s car. The truck left. Officers responded. The neighbor was possibly unaware he had struck the vehicle. Officers left a message for the subject to contact the communications center.

 

Traffic stop serious

Dennis Evan McClintock, 59, of Keota, was cited Thursday morning in the 1800 block of Highway 22 in Wellman for driving under suspension and improper lane change.

 

Traffic other

The northern intersection at First Street and highway 22 in Kalona was reported closed off in all directions Thursday morning and traffic had backed up. There was an issue with signage. Officers spoke with the DOT supervisor and construction manager. The incident was documented.

 

Fire calls

A large box truck was reported on fire Thursday morning at Highway 2189 and Old White Way in Crawfordsville. Ainsworth Fire Department responded. The truck had engine problems. No fire.

 

Sexual assault

A possible case of sexual assault was reported Thursday evening in the City of Washington. The incident is under investigation.

 

Fraud

An identity theft was reported Thursday morning in the 600 block of Golfview Drive in Wellman. Someone had made a $2,754 charge to Cox Communication in the caller’s name. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A subject was reportedly showing inappropriate pictures of the caller on his phone Thursday morning in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. The report was unfounded.

 

Liquor law violations

A subject reportedly left a residence in the 200 block of East Main Street in Washington Thursday afternoon and he had been drinking. Officers attempted to locate. The subject later returned to the residence. The family was advised of their options.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

Several subjects were reported in the 300 block of East Washington Street in Washington Friday morning being loud and disruptive. Officers responded.

 

All other offenses

A caller in the 1100 block of Redwood Avenue in Riverside reported Thursday afternoon that a crop duster flew extremely low over his residence. The incident was documented.

A stop and hold was requested Thursday evening on a subject in the 300 block of North D Avenue in Washington for a possible no-contact order violation. Officers responded. The subject was transported to the Washington County Jail and Louisa County extradited.

 

Family offense non violent

A verbal argument was reported Thursday night in the 1700 block of Highway 78 in Brighton. Officers responded. The subjects were separated for the night.

 

Suspicious activity

A subject reportedly got into the back passenger’s side of the caller’s truck Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington and took a tool belt. The subject put it back when the caller yelled at him. The incident was documented.

A spray plane was reported flying too low Thursday afternoon over a residence in the 2500 block of Redwood Avenue in Washington. The incident was documented.

A suspicious bag was reported located Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona. Officers responded. The item was seized.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Thursday afternoon in the 1600 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington on a subject who failed to show up to a meeting. Officers responded. Everything was fine.
