Arrests

Richard Campbell, 25, of Keokuk, was arrested Friday night at Yucca and 170th in Riverside for conspiracy to manufacture meth, unlawful possession of anhydrous, driving under suspension, possession of a controlled substance, interference with official acts, assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, felony eluding, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain control. Charges are pending for OWI and operating without owner’s consent. Desiree Stinson, 20, of Keokuk, was arrested at the same time and location for conspiracy to manufacture meth, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Diego Regaldo Andrade, 20, of Washington, was arrested Saturday morning at Madison and C in Washington for driving under suspension x13.

Justin Wayne Milam, 27, of West Chester, was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 1500 block of Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman on a warrant for probation violation on eluding.

Sarah Marie Buffington, 25, of Riverside, was arrested Sunday evening in the 1100 block of North Sixth Avenue in Washington for OWI and driving under suspension.

Claudio Toto Minquis, 23, of Washington, was arrested Sunday night in the 300 block of North Fourth Avenue in Washington for public intoxication.

 

Traffic accidents

A vehicle vs. deer accident was reported Friday morning in the 1600 block of Highway 1 in Washington. The incident was documented.

An ATV accident was reported Saturday evening south of Riverside. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

A two-vehicle accident was reported Sunday afternoon in the 2800 block of Wayland Road in Washington. Officers responded. Kyle Richard Carlson, 49, was cited for failure to maintain control and passing contrary to highway markings.

 

Traffic other

Tyler Joseph Bunting, 25, of What Cheer, was cited Saturday morning at Highway 22 and W61 in Riverside for driving under suspension.

A vehicle stop was reported Sunday morning at Highways 218 and 22 in Riverside. Charges are pending.

Cited Sunday morning at West Main and Highways 1 and 92 in Washington were: Taylor Austin Stout, 17, of Wellman, for .02 violation and possession of alcohol under the legal age; Garrett Lloy Covington, 17, of Washington, for possession of alcohol under the legal age; Tristan Noah Pohren, 17, of Washington, for possession of alcohol under the legal age; and David Bradford, 16, for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

 

Assault

A client in the 1300 block of Highway 1 in Kalona reportedly pushed the caller Friday morning causing her to fall. Officers spoke with all parties. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 500 block of South 11th Avenue in Washington reported Friday evening that her ex-husband slammed her in his car door when she reached in to hug her kids. The incident is under investigation.

A caller in the 2700 block of Coppock Road in Washington reported Saturday night that four subjects assaulted her husband. All subjects were intoxicated and told conflicting stories. The incident was documented.

A subject in the 600 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reportedly hit the caller in the arm twice Sunday afternoon. Officers responded.

 

Drug/narcotics violation

A wallet was reported found in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington with suspicious items inside. Officers responded. Charges are pending.

 

Fraud

A caller in the 20 block of Locust Lane in Washington reported receiving a phone call from a family member who needed money for medical reasons Friday morning. Information was given and later cancelled.

A caller in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona reported Friday night receiving a call from a law firm advising he was to pay them $650 on his credit card or a warrant would be issued for his arrest. The caller sent the money before realizing it was a scam. Officers were advised.

An insurance scam was reported Saturday morning in the 1400 block of 133rd Street in Wellman. The incident was documented.

 

All other thefts

A three-wheeled bicycle was reported stolen from the 600 block of West Adams Street in Washington Saturday evening. The incident was documented.

About $150 was reported stolen from a business in the 1000 block of Highway 22 in Wellman Saturday night. The incident was documented.

A license plate was reported removed from a vehicle on East Second Street in Washington Sunday morning. Officers were advised.

Blair Farris, 18, and Kyara Stogner, 19, were cited Sunday evening in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington for possession of alcohol under legal age.

A bike was reported stolen Sunday night in the 900 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. Officers were advised.

 

Vandalism

The window of a vehicle in the 200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington was reported smashed Sunday morning. The incident was documented.

Attempted entry to a vehicle in the 200 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington was reported Sunday morning. The incident was documented.

A vehicle was reported Sunday morning in the 200 block of East Second Street in Washington with a window broken out. The incident was documented.

Vandalism was reported to a motor home Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of East Polk Street in Washington. The incident was documented.

 

Intimidation/harassment

A caller in the 300 block of East Madison Street in Washington reported being threatened Friday afternoon. Officers spoke with both parties.

A caller reported Friday night her husband received seven calls from the same cell number. The subject was advised he had the wrong number, but continued to call. Officers spoke with both subjects.

A caller reported Saturday morning that he put an ad on Craig’s List and the subject who answered was harassing him. Officers spoke with both subjects.

A caller in the 3100 block of Wayland Road in Wayland reported Saturday afternoon receiving threatening email. The incident was documented.

A subject was reported causing problems Sunday evening in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street in Brighton. Officers responded. The incident was documented.

 

Intoxicated pedestrian

A subject was reported trying to get inside a business in the 100 block of West Third Street in Washington Saturday evening and he was intoxicated. Officers responded.

An intoxicated subject was reported Sunday evening in the 200 block of North Railroad Street in Ainsworth causing problems. Officers responded.

 

Trespass

A subject was reported in the 200 block of A Avenue in Kalona Saturday morning and she had been advised she wasn’t allowed. Destiny Renee Bell, 20, of Cedar Rapids, was cited for trespass.

 

Curfew/loitering/vagrancy

Subjects were reported loitering Sunday night in the 200 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Officers responded.

 

Animal complaints

Barking dogs were reported Friday evening in the 800 block of First Place in Kalona. Officers were unable to locate.

A bat was reported in a residence in the 900 block of East Second Street in Washington Friday evening. Officers responded.

A bat was reported in a residence in the 1100 block of South Third Avenue in Washington Friday night. Officers responded.

A bat was reported in a residence in the 200 block of South Iowa Avenue in Washington Friday night. Officers responded.

An officer was requested Sunday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington for assistance removing a bat.

 

All other offenses

A caller requested documentation Friday afternoon that her husband lost his checkbook in the 2400 block of Highway 92 in Washington. The incident was documented.

A caller in the 100 block of Fifth Street in Wellman reported Friday afternoon her child’s father was at the residence to pick up the children and they were in a verbal dispute. Officers responded.

A deputy was requested Sunday morning in the 2700 block of Havre Lane in Washington for a possible violation of a no-contact order. The incident was documented.

 

Family offense non violent

A caller in the 1200 block of Maple Avenue in Kalona reported Saturday evening that his fiancé had been drinking and her ex-husband and her sons had made threats against him. Officers responded. The female subject was wanted out of Scott County for driving under suspension, but extradition was declined. The parties were separated.

 

Mental subject

A caller at Highway 218 and 175th Street in Riverside reported Sunday morning her 26-year-old grandson was agitated and attempted to exit the car while they were driving down the highway. Officers responded. Tyler Andrew Schmoeger, 25, of Russellville, Mo., was cited for manner of conveyance.

 

Suspicious activity

Two suspicious plastic baskets were reported Friday evening at 320th and Highway 218 in Crawfordsville. Officers responded.

A subject was reported lying in the ditch in the 800 block of First Street in Kalona Friday night. Officers were unable to locate.

A caller in the 1500 block of 180th Street in Wellman reported Saturday morning hearing movement outside of her residence. Officers responded.

A suspicious vehicle was reported Saturday afternoon in the 30 block of Parkside Estates Road in Washington. Officers responded.

A subject was reported looking into cars Sunday afternoon at West Third and C Avenue in Washington. Officers spoke with the subject.

A subject reported hearing gunshots Monday morning in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.

 

Welfare check

A welfare check was requested Saturday evening in the 2500 block of Redwood Avenue in Washington. Officers were unable to locate.
