A caller reported backing into a pickup at East Monroe and South Second Avenue in Washington Tuesday afternoon. Officers responded. Information was exchanged. Lisa Brewer of Lockridge was cited for unsafe backing on the roadway.
A caller in the 800 block of Second Place in Kalona reported Tuesday afternoon that a subject who wanted to purchase items from her on Craigslist sent her what appeared to be a fraudulent check and was harassing her. The incident was documented.
All other thefts
A caller in the 100 block of West Washington Street in Washington reported Tuesday afternoon that his son thought he lost his iPhone at the beginning of summer and Verizon had called to advise someone else brought in the phone. Officers responded. The incident is under investigation.
A caller in the 500 block of North C Avenue in Washington reported Tuesday night one of his neighbors was harassing him about his fire pit. Officers responded.
An officer reported Tuesday afternoon being at a residence in the 800 block of East Tyler Street in Washington in reference to a complaint about barking and loose dogs. No answer was reported at the door. The officer could hear the dogs barking inside. The officer later spoke with the owner and gave her a verbal warning for barking dogs and allowing them to run.
A welfare check was requested Tuesday afternoon on dogs in the 100 block of Green Meadows Drive in Washington. Officers responded. The dogs appeared fine.
A barking dog was reported Tuesday evening in the 1000 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington. Officers responded. The owners took the dog inside.

A subject was reported Tuesday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Marion Avenue in Washington who appeared confused. Officers responded. Everything appeared fine.
A welfare check was requested Tuesday afternoon on a subject in the 600 block of East Tyler Street in Washington. Officers responded. The subject was located and was fine.
